The Humanities Center has invited Connor Martini, Postdoctoral Researcher at Princeton, to give an academic lecture.

"Thousands of UFO and UAP reports have piled up this century, and in public discourse they tend to collapse into one bucket: aliens. But by our current physics, getting here from another star system is nearly impossible—so these visitors are quietly granted limitless technological power, even as they show up as blurry footage. This talk asks: when someone reports something extraordinary, what's more likely — that it happened, or that they're mistaken? Taking the real costs of interstellar travel seriously, the talk asks not whether aliens are visiting us, but what it means if they aren’t and the witnesses are telling the truth anyway. We used to call that a miracle."
